Safety in Sync Named Finalist at HSJ Patient Safety Awards 2024

Safety in Sync, the OneHerefordshire forum for Shared governance has been recognised as a finalist in the prestigious HSJ Patient Safety Awards 2024, under the category “Developing a Positive Safety Culture”. Bringing together partners from across the local health and care system to drive continuous improvement in patient safety and staff empowerment.
The award submission and finalist interview were led by Natasha Owens (Wye Valley NHS Trust), Dr Lauren Parry (Taurus Healthcare), and Juliet Shepherd (Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust), showcasing the strength of cross-organisational collaboration.
“Being named a finalist is a testament to the dedication and innovation of our teams across the system,” said Dr Parry. “Safety in Sync is about creating a space where shared learning leads to safer, more compassionate care.”
The HSJ Patient Safety Awards are among the most respected in the healthcare sector, recognising outstanding contributions to patient safety and quality improvement. The recognition highlights the impact of Safety in Sync in embedding a culture where safety is everyone’s responsibility.
The winners of the HSJ Patient Safety Awards 2024 were announced at the ceremony on 16th September 2024.
