Taurus Annual Report 2024/25

Taurus Healthcare has published its Annual Report for 2024/25.

The report reflects a year of transformation, partnership and delivery across Herefordshire General Practice - with a clear focus on community health, digital innovation and prevention. It showcases how Taurus, local practices, and system partners have worked together to improve access, strengthen resilience, and deliver more joined up care for patients across the county. up care for patients across the county. ‑up care for patients across the county.

Between 1 October 2024 and 30 September 2025, Taurus delivered tens of thousands of appointments across its urgent and routine services. This included 22,443 urgent Out of Hours GP appointments, 56,200 evening and weekend routine appointments, 23,293 remote GP consultations, and 7,203 attendances through the Overnight Nursing Service. These services form part of a 24/7 model that increasingly ensures patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

The report also highlights strong patient experience feedback, with more than 96% of patients recommending Taurus urgent care services, and Herefordshire & Worcestershire once again rated the best in England for access and patient experience in the GP Patient Survey.

Highlights of the year include:

Successful procurement of the new Urgent Access Primary Care (UAPC) contract.
Expansion of prevention programmes ‑risk groups.
Strengthened digital capabilities supporting both clinical and operational decision making.‑making.
A significant turnaround in Taurus’ financial position, returning a surplus before tax of £108,000 (excluding PCA).
