Booster Campaign Ramps up in Herefordshire

In response to the Government's drive to offer all adults a COVID booster vaccination before the end of the year, Taurus Healthcare is ramping up its efforts to deliver the programme in Herefordshire.

Working with Herefordshire General Practice, partners, local communities and volunteers, a wide range of options is now available to Herefordshire residents.

  • Walk in clinics, for example at the Hereford Cattle Market
  • A Pop Up Shop in Hereford City Centre
  • A roving clinic, located in Hereford High Town and in the market towns
  • Bookable appointments, for example at Saxon Hall, Hereford and Earl Mortimer College, Leominster

Up to date details on what's available can be found on the dedicated Taurus web page.

Dr Mike Hearne, GP and Managing Director of Taurus Healthcare, said today (20 December):

"The vaccination effort across the two counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire has been immense.

"Of around 550,000 people who are eligible to have a booster, 73% have so far stepped forward to receive their jab.

"On a daily basis, across the two counties, we are administering between 10-16,000 doses every day.

"It's so important that people continue to come forward for their booster to help protect against the Omicron variant.  Having their booster offers everyone the best protection against the virus for themselves and others."

There are 15 locations across Herefordshire and Worcestershire available for booked appointments  on the National Booking System. There are thousands of appointments available to book both before and after Christmas. Together with the many walk in clinics available across the two counties, Herefordshire residents should be able to find the most convenient option for themselves, close to home.
